Wave of the Winter Event Recap

The third annual Wave of the Winter film premiered this past Friday in Rhode Island, the second year of the regional photo contest. The contest is meant to celebrate local surfers that get out there in the winter and charge, as well as give recognition to the photographers that are out there braving the cold to get that perfect shot.

We were stoked to be part of this great event for the third straight year. This year was bigger than ever, with an expanded region for the North East - Delaware thru Maine, and more ways for surfers to submit their clips. Though we did not have the best winter for surf in the North, there were plenty of epic submissions in both the video and photo categories. Click Here to View Submissions from WOTW:NE

Surfer's from all over New England come out to Whalers Brewery to celebrate the winners of the contest, and watch the insane new Wave of the Winter film from O'Neill and Surfline, documenting the best submissions from the Wave of the Winter in the gladiator pit that we call Pipeline on the North Shore of Hawaii. You can watch the movie HERE - and we recommend you do so if you like watching big barreling pipeline (who doesn't?).

Big ups to DJ Blade Mon kept us grooving all night between videos, and Flat Waves for the killer tacos and burritos!

Thank you to everyone who came out to hang with us and the O'Neill crew. We couldn't be more stoked on the level of support we receive from the New England surf community! We'll see you at the next one!
