Why Work at Warm Winds as a camp counselor?

Working as a camp counselor blends fun, skill development, and meaningful personal growth - both for you and the kids you're teaching. Here are a few reasons why:

  • Passion Meets Work: If you love the ocean and surfing, there’s no better way to spend your summer. You get to turn your passion into a job, which not only keeps you motivated, but also makes the experience more enjoyable.
  • Outdoor Adventure: Instead of being stuck indoors, you spend your days on the beach. Fresh air, sunshine, and the natural energy of the ocean can do wonders for your overall well-being.
  • Leadership and Teaching Skills: Instructing children requires patience, clear communication, and empathy. These are highly valuable “people skills” you can take with you in almost any future career.
  • Exercise and Health: Surfing and demonstrating techniques all day naturally keeps you active. It’s a healthy, physically engaging job that helps you stay fit while having fun.
  • Build Confidence and Inspire Others: Teaching children to surf can be incredibly rewarding. You get to watch them grow, overcome fears, and develop new abilities. Being a positive role model can leave a lasting impact on their lives.
  • Community and Camaraderie: Summer surfing camps often have a tight-knit community vibe. Working closely with like-minded instructors and enthusiastic kids fosters strong friendships and a shared sense of achievement.

Ultimately, teaching children how to surf combines the best of summer—sun, sand, and a rewarding sense of accomplishment. It’s an opportunity to share your passion for surfing while making a difference in young lives, all while enjoying a job that feels more like an adventure than work.
